For some reason, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? has been running through
my mind these last few weeks. Especially the part near the beginning
when the three escapees hitch a ride with a blind soothsayer, and he
talks about "Ob-stackles." I don't remember the exact line, but he
says something like "You will face many ob-stackles. I cannot say
what these ob-stackles may be. . . ." and so forth.
Life really is an ob-stackle course, and the older you get, the more
daunting the ob-stackles become, until the final ob-stackle claims
you and those you love. Esteemed Wife and I joke about who's going
first, but every now and then when I look toward that sunburnt
horizon, it's not a joke.
Here's hoping you overcome or at least outwit your ob-stackles.
Nothing messes with your mind like uncertainty.
