I am old enough to have seen grown ups frown when people used "love"
in place of "like" or "enjoy". Love is not really a more intense form
of like. They are different emotions and to substitute one for the
other is not just sloppy but lets everyone within earshot know that
the speaker has had a tragically impoverished emotional life. The
usage is not only a problem. So is the construction. In either case
you would say, "I love it" if you want people to know you don't really
know what love is or "I like it" with a modifier to make it more
intense.
My only question is how did this came up in German homework? And does
the German version make sense?
