Yes, your are right there is a "loop" on the MD2 which is where I have the grip
attached at the moment, but there is also one on the power pack (near the power
dial, chrome, non-folding. too narrow for the strap to fit through).
I think the grip would be much better if attached near the bottom and I've
seen mention of some kind of bracket that would allow just that.
Maybe I remember wrong but I think there might be a quickly removable gizmo
so you can use the strap comfortably and still be able to take the power pack
off the MD without having to undo the whole strap set-up.

rectangular black "loop" which is folded up into the base of the MD below
the motor/handgrip part. You maybe didn't notice it!
On the MD1 it is chromed, and non-folding, if I remember correctly.
