I went to the photoshop to get the film for my TOPE entry developed.
They had both bodies in the case, so I took a quick feel.
The E-410 is indeed a big step back toward the OM model for size.
However, I was surprised to fins that the E-410 was quite uncomfortable
to hold for me. It has lugs with rings for the camera strap, a nice
retro looking feature, Unfortunately, the right one ends up right under
the knuckle of my middle finger and is almost painful. I think it would
be painful with much use. Readjusting my grip to avoid it was
uncomfortable and awkward.
The E-510 has the strap slots sticking up from the top as is more common
these days. It was quite comfortable to hold.
When I got home, I tried holding an OM-1. I had used one just a few days
ago, and found it comfortable. On the OM-1, with index finger on the
shutter release, my middle finger fits nicely above the strap lug, with
the lug between middle and ring finger knuckles. On the E-410, the lugs
are too close to the release for my hand.
Is this not a problem for those with E-410s?
