The rechargeable CR-V3 lithium-ion batteries are labelled for digital 
cameras. The battery's rating is cited on the outer wrapping at 1350mAh - 
3v. The same wrapping specifies the batteries as being "Li-ion".

I wonder if four re-chargeable AA NI-MH batteries, each rated at 2800mAh - 
1.25v, would supply the necessary initial boost to the flash gun to get it 
up and running from cold and keep it running?

What kind of home use battery tester is needed to test the mAh output / 
capacity of batteries such as CR-V3 and AA sized NI-MH ones ?
