I just bought the EC-14 teleconverter for my E3 (sometimes one needs
the extra focal length to get closer to the señoritas...). In reading
the instructions, I see that Olympus says to put the converter on the
camera, and then mount the lens onto the converter. To remove,
reverse the procedure.
On my Canon outfit, I always mount the lens on the converter and then
mount the whole thing onto the camera. Is there any reason why
Olympus recommends a different procedure? Will I harm anything by
first attaching the lens to the converter and then attaching the
combo to the camera?
And a second question: what will happen if I put my 100mm Leica lens
(with adapter of course) onto the converter? Is there a risk of
damaging anything? Intuitively it should not matter, my 100mm Apo
Macro 2.8 should just turn into a 140mm f4 lens with manual focusing
of course.
TIA,
Nathan
