How right you are. The xpan scans from my minolta at 4800 are over 300 meg.
It is nearly impossible to do certain things in Photoshop on a fairly fast
computer. I usually do the basics first, crop, etc. Then, I resize to what I
plan for reproduction. A full rez 16 bit scan is many feet by many feet.
