Impression, and widely held belief, but I haven't yet seen anything concrete.
Anyway, it could still be the more effective system on short and
medium telephoto, and still loose on the long telephoto camp. Which
would be a pity because Panasonic still has no long Leica glass, but
on the other hand at the long end you really want a tripod if you can
get one.
By the way, it is not a rumour, it is claimed for the E-3 already:
