Oh, right. I always though that it was a halo caused by a reflection
from the event horizon. Of course, it's more than just light that is
over-emitted and 'bad taste' is equally obvious and intangible.
The wormhole between parallel universes concept would explain why
people who go in there are actually seen to come out again, although
in a significantly altered state.
