Thanks. So my experience was not abnormal given that the battery is
new. I have ordered a couple more plus the BCM-1 fast charger. I
guess I have been spoiled by my Canon 1DII experience--those
batteries last forever, well over 1000 shots. Of course they are also
big and heavy, as is the charger (but it can charge 2 at a time).
