Still looking for easier macro fill flash for OM? besides manual which is even
slower now as I have more possible combinations. I need to finish my tables of
light loss from extension.? Have never laid eyes on one of these beasties but I
certainly know where to ask about them.? It seems that the fill is a bit on the
bright side judging from some old posts (?-1 or so).? Wonder if the degree of
fill can be modulated by changing the ISO on a 4T? with a reciprocal change in
the exp compensation.? Increasing the ISO by one stop with exp compensation of
+1 seems to work ala John Lind with the T-series for "bright" fill. (not really
fill, but increases the flash over ambient)? It is not clear that changing the
exp compensation will alter the output of the F280 in FP mode.? Perhaps all the
changes do are cancel each other out. So the the question is if that is a
workable strategy.? The down side in any event is the flash won't fire in FP
mode with speeds under 1/60th. One extra litt
le dial on the 4T would be so much easier though doing it correctly manually
may teach me more in the long run. One can also use distance to modulate the
fill of the F280 in manual, though that is not very fast either.? I like manual
and auto for most things though chasing critters or hiking in the woods with
changing magnifications makes TTL attractive.
I even saw one old post that claimed the fill was modulated by a thyrister on
the F280,sort of an auto mode, and not TTL.
That doesn't seem correct. Perhaps I am staying up too late.
Thanks for any comments.
Mike
