OK - here's what happened with a Blurb purchase.
First attempt - reproduction quality was poor and they'd bound it on
the wrong edge. So it started at the last page!
A very obvious problem which should have been picked up.
They were apologetic and sent another immediately.
It arrived yesterday,
Reproduction quality better but the spine cracked as soon as I opened
it.
Their problem seems to be zero quality control - no-one checks the
books before they go out.
Perhaps they find it cheaper to rectify problems as they arise.
A very poor business strategy.
