What I meant to say was that the Nikon competitor to the 1DsIII is yet
to come. Apparently Nikon has been testing mules for the new X model
with MP ranging from 16 to 24. The D3 is priced close to the 1DIII
with only the physical sensor size accounting for the difference. I
think that is their intent even though they changed the model
nomenclature. The D2H preceded the D2X to the market by over a year.
The good thing for some may be the number of hardly used D3s that will
be on the market in a year or so to finance the x model or whatever it
will be called.
One could say that the 1D III is a do everything model too, if the s
model were missing.
