As part of my collection I also own a few of them OM88 & 101 as well
as OM77 & 707 with all the available Oly PF & AF lenses and 2 Sigma
Zoom AF's.
I wouldn't call them garbage; they are clumsy [much too heavy in
comparison with the other Oly gear and you have to have patience with
PF & AF], but using them they are not faulty and make good pictures.
