Well, no. I gave it some thought and I would only use the word 'job' if it
had been a part of a state farm. My grandfather was actually retired from
his day job at that time, although he did have a function as a chairman of
some sort of regional union of farmers.

Yes, something in that direction - I think the line between farming for
