It's subject to the type of print media, viewing distance, quality of
the RIP, and the quality of the viewer's eyes, and probably a bunch of
other factors that don't come to mind at the moment.
In other words, "It depends." ;-)
My semi-pro and pro buddies in the field do a lot of test runs before
they're satisfied with a digital print, and I think their prints are
nothing short of awesome. Doesn't strike me as all that different from
the workflow when we souped our prints, really.
