Sort of, and sort of not. Depends on which characteristics are important
to you. I still think the Fuji F30 or F31fd is the closest "feeling" to
the XD, compact, good lens, great overall IQ.
There are scads of much smaller cameras, if size/weight is the main
thing. I can't keep track of them. None come close to the actual image
making quality, with tiny sensors and lenses.
If the WA is important, the field narrows to almost nothing and gets
frustrating. Most of the P&Ss are 35-38mm on the wide end. At 28 mm the
C S80 is still available, or a used S70, but they are too large and
heavy for the role for me. The old Fuji F510 has some manual control,
the new 480 is auto only. Other discontinued models by Oly, N, Leica,
are too large to be XDlike.
The Ricoh Grd would be close, fixed 28/2.4 lens, relatively compact, but
it a love/hate camera. I could never be happy with the noise. And I'll
have to admit, even a 3x zoom is a big advantage to me. The Ricoh GX100
likewise could be a contender - except for the sensor system. And you
can't just buy better film. Their Caplio R series look like contenders
on paper, but like the others, have bad noise above base iso and one
reviewer had a lot of trouble in dim light.
