The instruction sheet I have for mine does not caution the user about support
for longer/heavy lens mounting. Wayne does make a good point about support even
if it's not in the instructions.
The only thing my instruction sheet mentions is that it is not compatible with
old F series n*kon.
Pricing: I've seen a lot of starting prices on eb*y begin at $49. I picked up
mine cheaper than that.
I'll defer to Moose on the question of quality.
On occasion I'll use it behind a Kiron 105 rather than a 65-116 tube since that
combination is less cumbersome. Here's a link that discusses magnifications of
various lenses on the 65-116 and mentions the use of the Vivitar adapter.
