I was a contractor there for years, my children were born in Nelson BC, I can

Yep, vietnam avoiders moved there, a lot of alternative thinking people there.
a lot of herb is grown in the hills around that area.
I've met all kinds there. it is stupidly busy there, everyone from the cities
is doing another defect to the country, prices are astronomical now.. 10 years
ago, a condo for 30, now same condo.. 190-230.. and I couldnt get a mortgage
because I was self employed.. and am still self employed and still dont have a
mortgage even when my wife works at the damn bank..... scum of the earth..

I believe that SE British Columbia was a center of such activity. Some
survived for quite a while. Even today there are polygamists and such
