Bill,
Thanks for keeping us posted on Walt and Ken. I am so very sorry
to hear that Walt is having such a difficult fight. I've been concerned
about Walt's absence from the List for some time and your postings
confirmed my worst fears. My thoughts and prayers go out to Walt for a
speedy recovery and to Ken for his loss.

Subject: [OM] Walt update
I will, as I get them, pass updates on Walt's condition to the list. I
am
unable to give you a diagnosis other than to say that Walt, like many of
us
who are on the other side of 60, have not exactly pampered our bodies
through
the decades. It is not cancer, but rather a number of internal
organs,
including his liver, that have stopped working in concert with one
another.
As of this evening, Walt, rather than medicine and machines, is
maintaining
his blood pressure. He remains sedated and on pain medication. The
doctors,
who are cautiously optimistic, will begin trying to wean him from the
ventilator on Friday. This may take 2 or 3 days. He is not out of the
woods and his
condition remains serious.
If you pray, continue to include Walt in your prayers. Send him a card
and
hopefully he will be reading it in a week or so.
Keep Ken Norton (Agschnozz) in your thoughts as his mother lost her
battle
with cancer last night.
