Most of the information I got from reading Thom Hogan's posts. I am
very confident of his accuracy. Most knowledgeable guy on camera
technology I have run across. I think follow focus is only continuous
in the sense that the F280 FP flash was continuous - a bunch of very
quick discrete focus actions that only seem continuous. You would
have a very slow single focus if that happened. And you would hear it
refocus. Under bad light, low contrast conditions what you may get is
a slow calculation, but the focus motion is instantaneous and not
repeated to get it right.
