I like the Fujifilm F30/31, F40 as they perform well in low light. If
she takes lots of pix indoors (as so many do) it a good choice as the
flash need not be used most of the time. Except for fill outdoors of
course when no-one uses it! I tested the F30 and found it excellent
at 800 ISO - better than many at 200.
As to lag - most aren't too bad these days so long as you teach her
to pre-focus! That's what causes the problem for most amateurs. We
tend to do it without thinking.
