It might be possible to use a 72-72mm 'spacer' ring to avoid wrecking
a filter - it would be lighter and probably thinner too. Also it
might be fun to try boring out a 49-62mm (or 67mm) and then using a
62-72mm step up. That would provide some tapering.
Then when you get the best combot, sell them on ebay!
