As far as Raid 1 goes you should get a performance boost and some
protection from mechanical failure but for security purpose consider the
two drives as only one and still do a remote backup. Any corruption of
one disk is immediately copied to the other... Another option for
performance is to buy one 10,000rpm Raptor. You loose the mechanical
redundancy but gain one SATA port.
So now someone tell me if it's best to use the Raptor as the boot drive
w/ programs or use it for the scratch disk and swap disk.
