The landowners around here are pretty tolerant and I am not aware of any moves
to limit rights of way. Most landowners are walker
friendly and often 'burn' a wide path through crops with weedkiller. That
particular path is narrow but it is early in the season
and it will get wider as the year goes on.
There was something in the news recently about open access whereby walkers will
be able to roam freely wherever they like so long
as they are considerate and responsible. I don't really see the need for that
especially in a county like Northamptonshire which
has something like two thousand miles of footpaths.
