Just to let y'all know that I did purchase a B+W 77mm Kaesemann MRC
Circular Polarizer Filter from oboy seller "besteastern". I can report
that the merchandise certainly seems to be real (heavy brass B+W cell)
and it works well. I haven't actually shot any photos with it yet but,
through the viewfinder, it certainly removed the reflections from my
wife's car sitting in the driveway in direct sun. Meter showed loss of
one stop when not cutting reflections and loss of 2 stops at maximum
effectiveness.
besteastern was very easy to deal with. Good email communication and
the filter arrived faster than the stated shipping delay even though
they didn't ship for a couple of days after payment. I was advised by
email when the shipment was actually made.
I paid $119.90 (BIN only) plus shipping and insurance to bring the total
to $131.85. He also runs a web site where you can purchase a little
cheaper than oboy. This link shows the same filter at $113.90 or a
savings of $6 off the oboy price.

Anyhow, I saved a bunch over buying from B&H. With 8% sales tax now
that I'm in New York the total with shipping would have been $186.10.
Don't think I'd buy a body or expensive lens this way but the filter was OK.
