I went upstairs (from my cellar office) yesterday and took a couple
of photos of sunflowers. In one of them:

it looks as if the out-of-focus highlights are circular. So I have
just had a look at the aperture blades on the 35/3.5 and they do
indeed look circular. That used to be one of the main aims of
portrait lens designers did it not?
