This is what happens when you mix dissimilar metals in this sort of
service, a) you get a massive battery (the coolant is the electrolyte)
that removes ions from one side, & b) failures that occur when
dissimilar thermal expansion coefficients are at play. There is a
special place in my purgatory reserved for the inventor of alloy heads.
On his right hand, there's a place for the inventor of rubber cam drive
belts. On his left, some for the designers of engines with chain drive
overhead cams without full length timing covers...
