OK, that wasn't fair. I just couldn't resist. And 'yes' is about all I
know for sure.
Truth is, though, I did that in October last year and didn't keep all
the intermediate layers. It's obvious that I worked top and bottom
differently. Memory/appearance/practice also suggest that I did the sky
in (a) different layer(s), too.
I don't know if I used LCE on the sky itself, maybe. Almost certainly
Curves and Brightness, maybe Shadow/Highlight. I tend to play and go
back when something doesn't do what I want. Mixed sky and feathery
foliage is one of those tricky things that doesn't always require the
same treatment. I wouldn't be the least surprised if use of a soft, low
flow eraser in the sky/foliage area to blend layers was somehow involved.
