Yes, of course, you're right too. But I was younger in those days, and I have
that perpetual itch to build some contraptions out of pure interest, just to
understand "how does it really works ?". The quality of the result matters
less to me than cobbling together various pieces and finally get to a point
where the underlying principles are exposed.
More than half my close relatives are teachers. While I'm not anymore involved
into lecturing, I'm certainly infected by the disease, although to a lesser
degree. I love to understand complex things, and sketch out the key points to
others.
