I haven't got anything memorised for the E20, or the 3040, John, sorry. As
far as I know it won't work on the E20, and I don't know what (if anything)
will. All I can suggest is to do what you are doing with the E1 - let the
buyer beware.

Gosh!
Piers, did you type that from memory? Will it work for other cameras - I
would like to know the count for an E20 that I'm selling. And a 3040?

Try this, John:
Switch the camera on and open the CF card door. The "Card-Cover Open"
message will appear on the LCD.
Simultaneously press the [>] (play) and "OK" buttons.
The firmware version of the camera and attached lens and flash will be
displayed on the camera's LCD monitor.
Press the following navigation buttons in sequence:
Up
Down
Left
Right
Press the shutter button all the way.
Use the navigation buttons to display:
Up - display Page 1
Right - display Page 2
Down - display Page 3
Left - diagnostic display
To return to normal camera operation shut the CF card door..
You need page 2, which shows the following:
R: 00XXXXXX shutter release count
S: 00XXXXXX flash exposures count
M: 00XXXXXX mirror lockup count
U: 00XXXXXX ultrasonic wave count

Is there a way to tell the number of exposures made by an E-dslr?
I just want to check the veracity of a 'little used' claim on a second-hand
E-1.
Thanks
