Thanks Chuck. In very harsh light I usually need to have the contrast
set to -1 in RAW conversion with an exposure that was set to keep the
highlights from blowing out. In CS2, I usually need to bring up the the
low end using the curves tool so my deepest shadows are around 20 and
then raise the middle of the curve slightly to lighten the mid tones.
