note sure this helps, but why not just get an enclosure only....then
dump the hard drive in? If the one from best buy fails you have to
through it all out....for me I jsut replace the hard drive and pay for
the enclosure only once....I have one that is USB and
firewire....awesome:

This drive comes with an AC adapter to power it. I had to go to
Seagates' site and look at the data sheet to confirm it.
