According to the Wiki article it had the consortium engine. Volvo,
Peugeot and Renault formed an engine group and manufactured an engine
that was supplied to each of the partners. I knew someone with a
Volvo with that engine. It was not a Peugeot engine, but it was used
by Peugeot. Evidently a similar French consortium is still operating
and the new Mini owned by BMW is using a new engine supplied by
Peugeot-Citroen PSA, probably with some BMW input. They abandoned the
engine built in South America by Chrysler, now Daimler.
