I think he probably meant [S-]HMC (Hoya Super multicoating) I assume
this is the Canyon 10-20mm EF-s mount lens with equivalent 35mm coverage
of 16-32mm. If a polarizer, since polazization varies with the angle
from the sun, it will give some uneven sky coloring covering such a wide
angle. Some folks like that, some folks don't.
Hoya filters also have aluminum cells. Hoya has a little story to tell
about why that's really great. Some folks like that, some folks don't.
