LOL!! That brings back a memory . . .
When I was in my early twenties, I had some of my processing done by a
small local lab run by an 'older couple'. Theodora ("Teddy") was an
excellent photographer and won many awards for her work. One day I
was complaining about the weight of my medium format kit, which
consisted of a couple Rollei TLRs and a Honeywell Strobonar. Her eyes
narrowed as I whined. When I finished, she went into the back room
and came out with her rig -- an RB67 with a large bracket holding a
Lumedyne head and a stout separate battery pack. She handed it to me
and barked, "If I can carry that around for a whole wedding, you can
sure as heck carry that lil' Rollei of yours!"
Coming from a woman old enough to be my grandmother, that was her
slightly indirect way of calling me a "Pansy". I don't think I've
complained about weight since then.
As to the Quantum, it's a bit bulky and certainly solid but I have no
trouble carrying it around for a wedding and reception. The real
weight is in the battery pack.
