It is always good to be cautious. If you set up a separate checking or savings account you can control the amount of money that is in the account. Verifying an account is easy. PayPal makes two deposits of a few cents and you report back with the correct numbers. Verified accounts protect the buyer and the seller. IMHO it is a good thing.
