75000 angry Mexicans notwithstanding, I stand by what I said. Corn prices are
still well within the normal seasonal variance, and I do not believe they have
a case. It may be that they have to use flour
tortillas or incorporate more rice in their diets. It may be that the Mexican
Government should do a better job of addressing poverty in their own country.
It may be that Mexico's economic problems
existed long before ethanol was an issue, and are far too complex to blame on
any single factor.
Its fashionable to bash the US and US Farmers. But be careful you don't bite
the hand that feeds you.
