So, he could tell the difference between Nottingham, Leicester and
Birminham (not Alabama)? :)
I was brought up in Leicester, about 30 miles from Nottingham (D.H.
Lawrence dialect). Literally could not understand a word of the heavy
dialect. (And no, it's NOT because the major dialect in Leicester
these days is Hindi!)
