East of Lake Erie and south and east of Lake Ontario global warming may
actually make the snow worst because it leaves the lakes unfrozen. Our winter
(I'm east of Syracuse) started late but it was brutal for about 6 weeks, at
least snow wise. An 80 y.o. neighbor shoveled his barn roof off for the first
time ever this winter. He's lived there since he was 1 y.o. So much of it
depends on the wind direction. 10 miles north of me it was much worst,
10miles south much better. We trade earthquakes and hurricanes for snow.
