acceptable. The further away I take a shot, the better it appears to me, the
closer I have the lens, the les depth I get, but the spot that is in focus
is superbly crisp. Just gets to, what is it you like or will accept. Me, I
want it all and I want it now.....but will just have to wait...."
Yes, Yes. Further away will increase DOF at the price of reduced Mag. I
vaguely remember going through the calculations a couple years ago regarding
DOF and FL. An object taken with a 50mm lens say at 1 foot will have the same
DOF as using a 100mm lens at 2 feet if taken at the same aperture. I will
await further comments from an obscure though very perspicacious colleague of
Dr. Flash, i.e. Dr. Focus to confirm or correct me. Thus a longer lens will
get you working distance and background control though no change of DOF at the
same magnification assuming the above is correct.
You have already had much sage advice on the specific lenses as have I.
