I know. As I said when that discussion was active, I prefer top-replies.
But my general rule is that if the post I am replying to has bottom-replies,
I bottom-reply. If there is no reply I top-reply. Besides, I don't think
that is really a big issue how how the posts are being replied to in terms
of top or bottom. What I had in mind were just some general guidelines on
how subject lines are used, something to point out what might be obvious to
people already on the list (such as that posts get sometimes answered out of
order, that people should re-read the posts if they feel offended by some
replies) etc, and also some info on where the list archive resides on the
web and how to search in it. Just some general guidelines and info like
that. I don't think anyone is suggesting imposing any rules, I don't even
think that would be possible considering this crowd.
