A lot of what you read assumes you are using medium format to take
portraits. The lenses were stopped down more than you will want to
with your E-System. You don't need the amount of light that old
sources recommend.
It's not difficult to light up a room with a flash running off of 4 AA
batteries. Getting the lighting even is the challenge.
