Aha, the opportunity for me to actually be on-topic, at least
photographically-speaking, if not Olympian.
I knew I had to have taken some cuttlefish-related piccies during
my beach-detail efforts, as the cuttlebone is always washing up on
Stockton beach after storms:

I am sure an experienced critic can wax lyric on the symbolism
involved, and possible reference to a seperated cruciform hinted
at in the presentation above, and cycles of death and rebirth,
and the movement if the tides and the makeup of the sand,
and so on, and I could probably manage it myself when I'm at
my most pretentious (maybe I just did ;-) )... but, realistically,
I just took the photos because I thought they looked interesting
(and I took a lot of "dead animal" piccies that particular day),
and put them together very quickly the above way for the same
reason.
