Hi folks,
Some of you will have downloaded and tried a fairly new Japanese image
manipulation program. There was some muttering amongst the troops when
it was shown that the trial period is just 14 days.
I won't write its name here in case it gives the game away, but it has a dark
grey screen, and the initials S P play a part in the name. If you really want
to
know e-mail me. Clue - were it a fabric, it would be smooth to the touch.
After 14 days as soon as you try to open a file ( anyway if you have MSIE on
your machine, and this all took place on my son's XP machine, which has
MSIE), it immediately tries to connect and opens a registration dialogue. If
you play along with that strategy, and then click "Decline" or whatever it is,
the SP program shuts down.
However, should you accidentally ignore the invitation to connect, register, or
whatever, and continue with the idea of opening a file; eureka - you can, and
in fact I could not find one disabled feature in 30 minutes of playing around.
Interesting, I thought. So I continued testing :-)
Brian
