Maybe, but I wouldn't hold my breath for too long. The scuttlebutt on the
Leica forums is that Leica was having umpteen problems with Imacon doing
updates and keeping the things current. They also say that the QC on the
CCD's isn't up to their standards. I'd be surprised if they didn't
attempt a DSLR, but I have low expectations for execution.
Leica's a wacky company in many, many ways. Schizophrenic is how I'd
describe their personality, if I had to pick a word. They have the very
classic, teutonic sense of engineering perfection-itis. So they try and
make products that are as perfect as practical. But they get beat up by
the big CE/camera companies and the realities of the market. In the end,
their core expertise is mechanical optics, but they don't have a large
enough, profitable outlet for that competency to stay healthy

The digital module for the slr is being discontinued. Maybe a new DSLR?
