Whilst playing with my newly acquired flashgun, I realised I'd
forgotten what the top sync speed of my E-300 is supposed to be, so I
tried to find out by experiment. An unexpected bonus of the instant
feedback of digital! Just point it at a blank wall, pop the flash on
and shoot away- when part of the image goes dark, your shutter's 2nd
curtain is already closing when the flash goes off.
Managed to get a fully exposed frame (zoomed in to x10 and scrolled
right to the edge) at 1/320 s ..... which is about a stop faster than
I thought it would be. I'm sure that's not the official value... hang
on, it appears to be 1/180 officially. Have I just got an unusually
good one, I wonder?
