Odd, that this amazing special purpose lens had no labeling,
instructions or marketing to point out its "special features" that
were noticed by anyone. It really is sad to see the demise of this
company with its wonderful history justifying aberration as a
feature. I don't want to shock anyone, but the 85/1.4 also has the
same aberrations and does not get rid of its "bloom" until stopped
down considerably.

The hyperbole of Zeiss statements that these lenses achieve 350+
lines per millimeter boggles the imagination especially when they
come off second best to the Nikon product they hope to replace. Gee,
my 70-200/2.8 VR must be pushing 400 lpmm. Or why not a thousand?
Ooh. :-)
