Chris - nothing like Velvia for a bit of colour... :-)
These pics were culled from 5 rolls of 36 & there were plenty of crowds
which I didn't post. However, it is surprising how deserted parts of the
city were once you get away from the main tourist traps (St. Marks & the
Rialto). Also, most visitors seem to be on day trips, even St. Marks is
quite civilised before about 10.00 & the crowds thin out in the late
afternoon.
Had one day of torrential rain - visited Torcello with the Oly Ody camera
(http://archaeoimages.com/Venice-01/pages/Torcello-from_campanile-02.html).
Otherwise the weather was good, if a little too hot.

There are some interesting colours there, Martyn. It must be Velvia
scanned and the effect is very attractive. I am particularly
impressed that you managed to find so many places without too many
people, and with such lovely weather as well.
