Mike,

The Pentax Screw cameras have auto diaphrams. I have a Spotmatic and an
older H3v in my collection, and both feature auto diaphram operation. The
earliest screwmount cameras like the early Contax SLR's did not have it, but
the screw cameras made by Pentax, Fujica, and Olympus (yeah, the Oly FTL was
a screwmount camera that predated the OM series!) all had auto aperture.
The problem with screwmount was coupling the aperture to a meter for full
aperture metering. All of the Spotmatics except the Spotmatic F used
stop-down metering. The F used the last series of pentax screw lenses, which
had a metering lug built in to the inside of the mount in such a way that
the lenses could still be used on most of the older cameras.
